This one goes without saying. Computer addict since… well birth probably.. I can remember back in the days before my family even had a computer. I loved spending time on one of the family friends’ old machines. The thing was super old. It had this command prompt thingy that was preceded by this little flag looking thing. I mostly liked the games. Then I got more involved in more of a creation aspect of it all.
Played CS since the original. I always preferred TFC over CS. But CS took more of a following, so I sort of evolved with it I suppose.
Kicked into CS:S. It’s good times. I pwn.
I learned to program in a command line environment. It’s still a totally rockin’ place to be. I always get a kick out of the kids these days that think if they can open a command prompt or terminal windows then they’re 0mg h4cking.
America. *#&@ yeah. And I mean real America. Not the hippie liberal America.
Because I’m writing this now, right? And because this was a desire I had since the 5th grade. Or 8th. Or somewhere in there.
Yeah I like Avril Lavigne. Make fun of me all you want. I’ll just deflect it with my awesome shield.
I currently use a Canon 350D. Also known as the Rebel XT. I like it. Using it extensively is not something I have been able to explore as much as I would like.
In my path to enlightenment, of myself, I collected some “sigbars”, or signature bars, a while back. These things are cool. I’ve never been a heavy internet forum participant, but these are really used for people to “sign” their messages on forums. They show quick tidbits about the person. There is some etiquette that goes along with them, specifically around the number that can be used without being obnoxious, and their specific style. Sigbars follow a certain format I guess. I couldn’t tell you the extreme technical details past what’s obvious.
So I just think they’re neat. These little graphics people do up to highlight little interesting things about them. There are pages out there with hundreds of these things, and it’s fun to go through and say “ooo! That’s me!”. So yeah, as I was stating, I picked some of these out about… oh … 6 months ago? And they’ve been sitting in a TODO pile since then. My goal is to get them posted up bit by bit, and eventually compile them into the “about” page.
I like to play the acoustic, but that hobby tends to be cyclical, and fall by the wayside from time to time. My skills are also somewhat limited, and hit a wall a while back in terms of making any progress. I have a Washburn D11. It looks neat.
As far as I’m concerned, AIM is the king of IM. And even though the official client is bogged down with all kinds of bloatware, I’ll continue to support it until it goes pay, or goes away.
(Although the new client does have some pretty cool features). I actually use pidgin for IM, for what it’s worth. But pidgin tends to be buggy and somewhat annoying to use. There really is no decent alternative in my opinion, and I tried quite a few. Pidgin gets close. The official AIM Lite thing (is that still around) was ok too. These days my IM use is pretty low… it’s sad to see the IMing sessions drop to almost 0 after all these years. Everyone sort of stopped using it post-college it seems like.
That’s it.. just 2 for now.

Jessica and I just watched the new The Day the Earth Stood Still movie. A decent movie, I thought, but it took some
liberties with plot changes that really didn’t work in its favor. And in doing so, sort of made the entire movie title pointless. Oh well.
Still, the gigantic Gort was pretty cool. Although, the original guy was pretty awesome, too.
Boy, for the last few weeks I have been chewing a lot of gum. I’m pretty sure spearmint gum is my favorite.
Here’s a fun little prank to play on someone when they’re away from their computer.
Put this into a file called “whatever.vbs” and drop it in their startup folder. Then enjoy.
I don’t know why I’m sharing this… and I’m not liable if you screw something up.
Set oWMP = CreateObject(”WMPlayer.OCX.7″ )
Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection
if colCDROMs.Count >= 1 then
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count – 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next ‘ cdrom
End If
Set wshShell = wscript.CreateObject(”WScript.Shell”)
do
wscript.sleep 10000
wshshell.sendkeys “{CAPSLOCK}”
loop
I tried.. couldn’t surpass 120. I am getting slower in my old age, because I could do it at age 12.
